How to Click a Great Candid Photo?

How to Click a Great Candid Photo?

Clicking a photo of a good candidate is a bit difficult. It is not with respect to the photograph only, but also the emotions captured with it.

To illustrate this, a clear picture means photos that were actually unplanned and unposed. Such as a group photo, beach trips, family activities, etc.

Here I am assuming that you are shooting using DSLR. Some tips and tricks can also be applied to smartphones, but this would be best with DSLRs. So let's get started.

1. aperture mode

Most DSLRs on the market have something called aperture mode. Use them for candid photos. The manual mode is too slow to capture a clear picture.

2. Use zoom lens instead of the prime lens

The problem with candid photography is that it is changing rapidly. In minutes you can go from one group photo to a cake photo to another group photo. You do not have time to change lenses. Therefore it is better to use a zoom lens instead of the prime lens.

3. Use ambient light and do not flash

In candid photography, the photo scene changes very often. Whenever this happens, you should try to measure the quality of the light and then illuminate the camera accordingly.

4. AI Servo AF

Most DSLRs have two autofocus modes. One is called single point AF-S. It is a widely used model. The second mode is called AI Servo AF, which is best for clear pictures. Think back to on Nikon this mode is called continuous AF-C.

5. Click a lot of photos

The most common reason for poor photos in photography is hesitation. Do not hesitate to click the photo. Another photo may mean capturing the best moment of the occasion. Also, obviously, in terms of photography, you have no idea when the best moment will be. You should not wait for the "perfect" shot. Instead, create one.

6. Click the photo in burst mode

You can try shooting in Nikon on Canon or in Burst mode on drive mode. These modes allow you to click photo after photo in regular intervals. This ensures that you don't miss that "perfect shot". Once you let the button go, the snaps are closed. This feature is a boon for photographers working in the high-performance shooting. Try it once and thank me later.

7. Never put your camera down

I just can't tell you how important it is to hold a camera. In the interval of finding the camera, picking it up, exposing and composing it, and then fumbling the shot, he may miss the moment. A golden rule: "In any Event keep the camera in your hand".

8. Try to shoot in RAW format

JPG format is not for candid photography! If you are willing to post-process photos, you should use RAW format. This format has a lot more information than the JPG format. Also, RAW is much easier to edit than JPG.
